How It Works

Five steps. Ten seconds. Zero workflow disruption.

SQUVA was designed so it never breaks your rhythm. Here is the entire chair-side interaction, start to finish.

Power on & check

SQUVA boots in seconds. The 5″ touch screen shows lamp life, cycle counter and a green ready indicator. Voice assistant confirms “Ready.”

Wave the lid open

The motion sensor opens the chamber without you touching it — sterile-field friendly. The internal cradle rises into position.

Insert the implant

Drop in the implant still in its carrier, from any manufacturer. The UV lamps surround it on all sides for uniform exposure.

Press START

One tap. The lid closes, lamps fire and the cycle counts down — 10 seconds. Voice prompt confirms each phase.

Place immediately

Take the implant out and place it in the osteotomy. The surface is now super-hydrophilic and at peak bioactivity for the placement window.

The Cycle

10 seconds, broken down.

The cycle is not just “a UV bulb on a timer.” SQUVA delivers a 172-µm wavelength UV exposure with a controlled intensity profile, surrounded by motion-sensor automation, voice assistance and a 5″ LCD HMI that any dental assistant can run on day one.

  • 0–1 s — lid closes, chamber light ring activates
  • 1–9 s — UV lamps irradiate the implant surface
  • 9–10 s — automatic cooldown & ventilation
  • Done — voice confirms “Cycle complete.” Lid releases.

When to use SQUVA

Make it the last step before placement.

UV photofunctionalisation effects degrade quickly once an implant is exposed to air again. Build the SQUVA cycle into your workflow as the very last step before the fixture goes into the osteotomy.

Routine placement

Use SQUVA on every fixture, every case. Open the implant package only when the osteotomy is ready, run the 10-second cycle, place immediately.

Immediate placement

Particularly valuable when initial stability comes from a small bone collar — the boost in early cell response can compensate.

Sinus & short ridge

Where biology has the hardest job, the photofunctionalised surface gives you the largest measurable advantage.

Compromised hosts

Older patients, smokers, diabetics — anywhere baseline biology is slow, a fresh hydrophilic surface helps.

Stored stock

That fixture in your cupboard for two years is a different surface than it was the day it was sealed. SQUVA puts it back to factory-fresh, biologically.

Any brand

SQUVA is an open system. Use it with the implant the case calls for — not the one tied to your machine.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Does SQUVA work with implants from any manufacturer?

Yes. SQUVA is an open system — the chamber accommodates fixtures of any geometry, any platform, any major manufacturer. The UV cycle is identical regardless of brand.

Does it sterilise the implant?

SQUVA is a UV photofunctionalisation device, not a steriliser. The implant comes out of its sterile packaging, into SQUVA, then directly into the osteotomy. The 10-second cycle restores surface hydrophilicity and bioactivity — it does not replace the manufacturer’s sterilisation.

How quickly do I need to place after the cycle?

As soon as practical — within minutes is the convention. The freshly photofunctionalised surface begins to re-age the moment it is exposed to air again. SQUVA was designed so the cycle slots into the surgical sequence right before placement.

Will my dental assistant be able to run it?

Yes. The motion-sensor lid, the voice assistant and the touch screen mean there is a single button to press: START. There is no surgical menu, no per-implant programming, and no cleanup beyond a wipe of the chamber.

Will it slow down my workflow?

It actually fits between two existing steps that already cost more than 10 seconds (drilling and torque verification). For most teams, SQUVA is invisible in the timeline of the appointment.

What is the wavelength and dose?

SQUVA delivers a controlled UV dose with a 172-µm characteristic wavelength inside an enclosed chamber, with shielding so no UV escapes during the cycle. See the Components & Handling page for the full specification.
